In order to uplift the technology knowledge, to sharpen the technology skills and to strengthen the interests and knowledge in networking technology of students in both Post-Secondary and Secondary levels. Cisco Network Academy (HK & Macau) will launch 'The 8th Cisco Hong Kong-Macau Youth Networking Skills Competition' in August, detail as below :

• 3 students per team (max 18 teams)
• Format: 
• Theory part - online questions in form of MC, T/F, Matching, Fill-in-the-blank etc 
• Network Setting and Trouble Shooting through the use of Packet Tracer (Version 5.3.3.0022)
• Scope: 
• CCNA 1-4

Detail of Competition for Secondary Group

• 2 students per team (max 60 teams)
• Format:
• Theory part - online questions in form of MC, T/F, Matching, Fill-in-the-blank etc
• Practical part - network cable making (568A or 568B standard, straight or crossover cable)
• Practical part - Network scenario building (using Packet Tracer Version 5.3.3.0022)
• Scope:
• CCNA Discovery - Networking for Home and Small Businesses Chapter
• HK ICT Curriculum : Core part - Networking related content + Networking Elective content (P.22-25, 30-35, 45-53 of http://334.edb.hkedcity.net/doc/eng/ict_final_e.pdf)
• In order to release the burden of teacher(s)-in-charge of Secondary Group, a training session (for Secondary Group only) to teach student about basic Networking concept, making network cable and the use of Packet Tracer will be arranged as below:
• Date: 2012-07-14 (Sat) 
• Time: 09:30 - 12:30
• Venue : Room 317, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Chai Wan), 30 Shing Tai Road, Chai Wan, Hong Kong (map to venue)

• Registration link will be sent to AiTLE members first for their registration, if seats are available after 2012-06-01, then registration link will be open to public
• Registration Deadline : either the Registration is full or by latest 30th June, 2012

Remarks

• Even though unlimited number of teams can be registered to join the competition, however, in order to cater more schools' participation, only the teams with priority 1 and 2 (both for Post Secondary Group and Secondary Group) of @ institute / school will be auto-accepted before registration is full. More teams (according to the priority indicated during registration) can be accepted if either the responses from schools are low or the venue can accommodate more teams. So during registration, please show the priority for the team so that we can have better information and can make decision on how many team(s) your school can finally accepted to the competition.

The development of Mobile Apps greatly change our daily lives. Android is one of the development tools for the Apps and it is an open platform that drives innovation in mobile communications and beyond.

In view of the rapid development of Mobile Apps, AiTLE, in cooperation with IVE, launch a workshop called "Android Mobile Apps Development Workshop" at 2012-05-26. During the workshop, the development process of Android application and the use of Android development tools will be introduced. Attendees will build an application using Android SDK and then deploy using Android-powered device. Detail of the workshop as below :

為提高現時全國以及香港地區中小學的教學與管理人員資訊科技的解難能力，建立溝通與交流的平台，分享數碼化校園建設的成功經驗，「第二屆全國中小學數碼化校園創意與實踐大賽(香港區)」現已公開接受報名。

延續第一屆大賽的理念，2012年第二屆全國中小學數碼化校園創意與實踐大賽，繼續鼓勵廣大教師分享校園資訊科技建設成果，暢想數碼化校園未來，為推動校園資訊科技建設貢獻自己的心力！本屆賽事亦是首次開放給香港特別行政區的中小學教學與管理人員參加，希望鼓勵更多教師分享成功經驗，推動校園教學科技的建設與交流。

參賽內容：學校現已發展的數碼化校園建設方案，或改良現有數碼化校園的建議方案。
參賽對象：全國中小學的教學與管理人員。

參賽辦法：網路實名註冊報名 或 教育機構統一組織學校參賽。

獎項設置：

• 大賽獎項與獎勵：一等獎5名，價值5000元獎品；二等獎10名，價值1000元獎品；三等獎20名，價值500元獎品；優秀獎200名
  所有獲獎者將由大會頒發獎勵證書，並受邀出席頒獎活動。其中一、二等獎作品將會在《今日校園》月刊公開發表，過程中取得優異成績的參加者將獲「優秀組織單位」稱號。
