In order to uplift the technology knowledge, to sharpen the technology skills and to strengthen the interests and knowledge in networking technology of students in both Post-Secondary and Secondary levels. AiTLE + Cisco Network Academy (HK & Macau) will launch ‘The 10th Cisco Hong Kong-Macau Youth Networking Skills Competition’ on 3rd July (Post-Secondary Group) and 5th July 2014 (Secondary Group and Prize Presentation Ceremony), detail as below :

  • Post-Secondary Group Competition
    • Date : 3 July 2014 (Thursday)
    • Time : 11:30 – 17:00 (include lunch)
    • Venue Location : Macau
  • Secondary Group Competition + Post-Secondary Group In-depth practice + Award Presentation
    • Date : 5 July 2014 (Saturday)
    • Time : 12:30-18:00

Detail of Competition for Post-Secondary Group 

  • 2 students per team (max 25 teams)
  • Format:
    • Theory part – online questions in form of MC, T/F, Matching, Fill-in-the-blank etc
    • Network Setting and Trouble Shooting through the use of Packet Tracer (Version 6.0.1)
  • Scope:
    • CCNA 5.0 Routing and Switching 1-4
  • Remark
    • Champion of Post-Secondary Group will represent HK to join the CCNA International NetRiders, below is the course requirements and enrollment requirements of CCNA International NetRiders
      • Course requirements :
        • Validation will be checked that students are currently and validly enrolled in a course or successfully passed an eligible course with a Pass.
        • Those marked incomplete, or no activity will not be considered valid enrollments.
        • If it looks like a student was enrolled in a course just to make them eligible to compete in NetRiders, they may be disqualified.
      • Enrollment Requirements:
        • To align with the CCNA International NetRiders, the rule is 10 months from whenever registration will open for the International NetRiders but that date hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Detail of Competition for Secondary Group

  • 2 students per team (max 50 teams)
  • Format:
    • Theory part – online questions in form of MC, T/F, Matching, Fill-in-the-blank etc
    • Practical part – network cable making (568A or 568B standard, straight or crossover cable)
    • Practical part – Network scenario building (using Packet Tracer Version 6.0.1)
  • Scope:

In order to release the burden of teacher(s)-in-charge of Secondary Group, a training session (for Secondary Group only) to teach student about basic Networking concept (CCNA R&S, Cisco ITE, network cable making and the use of Packet Tracer) will be arranged as below:

  • Time: 09:30 – 12:30
  • Venue : Room A204, IVE Tsing Yi, 20 Tsing Yi Road, Tsing Yi Island, New Territories

 

Awards and Prizes

  • Post Secondary Group:
    • Champion, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up and Merit awards
  • Secondary Group:
    • Gold Awards, Silver Awards, Bronze Awards for team(s) has / have reached that award standard
    • Merit awards

  • Certificate, trophies, Coupons
  • All participants (teacher and student) will have a Polo shirt for the competition, please specify the size you required during registration.

    • For Secondary Group registered after 2014-05-09, no training will be provided by Organizers

Remarks :

Even though unlimited number of teams can be registered to join the competition, however, in order to cater more schools’ participation, only the teams with priority 1 or 2 (both for Post Secondary Group and Secondary Group) of each institute / school will be auto-accepted before registration is full. More teams (according to the priority indicated during registration) can be accepted if either the responses from schools are low or the venue can accommodate more teams. So during registration, please note the priority info for the team so that we can have better information and can make decision on which team(s) of your school can finally accepted to the competition
